The task of establishing adequate and appropriate facilities for education
in order to enjoy the benefit of an educated population is, however, a major
challenge for government.
Education has a very broad connotation. It is not to be straitjacketed with
schooling. Any experience of life that results in learning is education.
learning may be characterised either by modification of behaviour or a
change in thinking style. Schooling is a planned and organized learning process.
The significance of education in economic growth and development has been well
recognised in economic thoughts since the turn of the 20th century.
We have to understand the value of education in economic growth and social development.
Education contributes to overall development of society and elevation of quality of life
of individual households.
The assertion that expenditure on education and health is a form of investment on human
capital formation, and the so generated human capital raises productivity of workers and thus
increases the total production and economic growth.
There are many barriers in education, even todays in India mostly in rural areas education
of the girl child is being subsidised to a certain level.
Let take a simple example, a family with two children, a boy and a girl. Let it be that
both of them qualify in an entrance examination for admission into a engineering degree
course in the same year. The parents discuss the costs of engineering education. Costs includes
fees, books which are quite expensive from the items of maintenance. The family comes to
realize that they can afford to finance only one of the two for engineering education.
In a typical India family there would be no doubt that the boy would get the preferential treatment.
The gender bias gets more pronounced due to economic constraints in the family.
But even that there are many families in India villages who wants to give education to they children, but due to adequate facilities students from rural areas find it difficult to pursue their education in colleges.
We need to more forward with three mantras: Expansion, Inclusion, and Excellence. That translates into access, equity and quality. It is fundamental duty of the state to ensure that the underprivileged have access.
Once we have access and there is equity then we cannot compromise with quality.
We have to improve the quality of teachers, experiments with different models of importing
education and delivery systems, use ICT as a means of education. Make sure that the
underprivileged go to school and get quality education.

India in the phase of progress
The transformation of India from the time of independence to now where in it is an emerging powerhouse. It really an amazing achievement of India. The transformation is especially in economy, society and the way in which India worked in the last 60 years.Indai has an enormously important role to play in the world. India is a model of how democracy and development can go hand in hand as it has just been shown in the elections. It is now the fourth biggest economy in the world by PPP.
India has put itself in the centre of major issues, which reflects the success of its goverence.
Many Indian companies are trying to takeover companies in europe, especially in UK.
Even UK think that Indian corporate owner are good owners that's why they encourage
companies to come and takeover companies in UK. Like ONGC bought a very big UK based oil and gas company, HCL bought a very big UK software company and this is defintely helping the good investors in terms of bringing money into our economy and helping to create jobs.
India is developing continously for last three decades, India has a large population and so it is one of great assets, is its young population and for this education system should be excellent as because population and education can convert that into a workforce of the global knowledge economy for the next 100 years.
